Sainsburys are at this moment going through a detailed selection process for its design roster.
The opportunity was given to 22 agencies of which 11 have apparently taken up the option to present. What is available at the end of this process is unclear as the project has been on the go since May this year. It was put on hold due to Sainsburys internal restructuring. Word is on the street that some agencies declined due to the lack of commitment from the large supermarket chain.
As with all these large pitches that get the industry buzzing gossip is rife!
One question that should be asked though is what consideration and understanding do the selected agencies have with regard to recyclable packaging and inventive paper engineering to minimise waste.
I am sure Sainsburys have all this in hand and we await with great anticipation to see who the winning agency is.
