How a blog or news section can add value to your web site

If you want to maximise the effectiveness of your company website, having a news section can go a long way to helping you achieve your goals.
As Google continues to update its search engine algorithms, more and more emphasis is being put on having regularly updated fresh content. Particularly in cases where your company’s products or services tend to stay the same, adding a news or blog section to your website can give Google’s web crawlers something of interest to send back to Google on a regular basis. This will score you major points in Google’s algorithms, and kick-start your SEO (search engine optimisation) to get you ranking higher in relevant search results.
Aside from the benefits to your SEO, a well-written news or blog section will also add a lot of memorable content to bring traffic to your site. In order to attract the right kind of traffic, your news and blog articles should be of interest to your potential customers, and have keywords that your customers may use in a web search.
News and blog sections do need to be regularly updated – aim for at least one new article a month – but this is quite easy to do either in-house, or if you use an agency to manage your web, news sections can usually be included in your monthly contract for a relatively low cost.
